I am a Brooklyn artist educated, trained and exhibited throughout the metropolitan area. My work focuses on layering images, material and content often inspired by women’s crafts i.e. knitting, crochet, sewing and weaving. The work is a constant exploration and fascination with textures and patterns found in the decorative arts in response to contemporary issues in our culture and throughout the world.

For example, “Women!” is a celebration of the women’s movement, “Voiceless” the limits of women’s voices, “Have I Changed Enough?” is in response to the question: must women change to be taken seriously and “Homeless” a response to this major issue throughout the world. These timeless topics cross cultural boarders and are more real today than ever before.

The techniques and materials in these works include paper cutting, drawing and painting layered into a unique form of collage.  A constant in my work is an interest in space that is created through the illusion of the drawn line juxtaposed with the physical line of the cut form.
